I have chosen awake@3:14a.m. because of the richness and depth of Ephesians 1:3-14. Further, when contemplated how can one not marvel? That is the meaning- I am awake at Epheasians 1:3-14 and marvel (that is the a.m.). Why? The answer is "in him"! In him, Jesus, sinners are saved by grace for the glory of God. In him we are adopted, redeemed, blessed with every spiritual blessing, chosen, forgiven, sealed with the Spirit, and guaranteed an inheritance. God be praised.
These riches are found only in Christ. In him we are rich. Not materially but spiritually. The glorious gospel is the word of truth and source of salvation. We are to hear it and believe in him (vs. 13). Believing is trusting and clinging to Christ alone for salvation. It also entails a knowledge of sin and repentance. Turn from your sin and believe him.
